What’s In Your Mind Today

As you read every word of this article you will learn that you can create your own future history.

Although we have made tremendous progress in medicine there is a final frontier to conquer, and it is not space, it is the mind. The creative workings of the mind are still a mystery to medicine - being able to launch a man into space has still brought us no closer to finding out how the mind works.

I know you are wondering how your mind is creating your future.

Your thoughts are governed by whatever you see in your minds eye, and what you see is the result of all your life experiences to date.

We make decisions based upon our records of the past results we have experienced that are all locked away in our mind. When faced with a situation we draw on those experiences looking into our memory for an identical or similar situation and uncovering how we reacted to that situation and the result we had.

Unfortunately most people have a wealth of negative experiences on which they draw and it takes a conscious effort to visualise positive results for the future.

Most people who are successful meditate at least once a day, they may not surround themselves with flowers, candles and hold finger bells, but they find a quiet spot, relax and in the quietness build an image of the life they want in their minds eye. They see and feel the success they are aiming for as if it were already theirs, the impact it has on their lives and those that they love, dwelling on the positives in life this way will bring them about - for your mind is an instrument that you control and by filling it with expectations of positive outcomes which will serve to drive all your future action toward that positive outcome.

STOP! And ask yourself this key question - How can I develop my mind to set my goals and to always bring about positive results? Listen closely please; don’t rush headlong trying to find the answer when all you need do is take The First Step.

The Power of Belief

Ready? O.K. Here we go…W Clement Stone said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe he will achieve.”

On May 25th 1961 J F Kennedy set out a major plan for the United States scientists when he declared to a joint session of congress, ‘First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth.’

Up until he said that walking on the moon was the stuff of science fiction with the emphasis on ‘FICTION’.

It was in 1953 that Sir Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tensing stood at the top of the highest mountain in the world, when all said the climb was impossible becaus eof the lack of oxygen.

In May 1964 a young medical student, Dr Roger Bannister, won world renown, not for his skills in the operating theatre, but by doing something in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds that no man had done before
What did he do, he finally ran a mile in under 4 minutes! The stuff of comics and story books before he ran on a little race track in Oxford, against his old university aided by two colleagues in Chris Brasher and Chris Chataway. Even though eminant physicians had tried to prove that the human body could not withstand the demand placed on it by attempting such a feat.

Why are these events so important when you are setting goals, the individuals had an undying belief in what they wanted to achieve in spite of the number of knowledgeable advisors that surrounded them saying what they proposed could not be done.

Extra-ordinary human beings? No! Just ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things driven by the belief that it could be done.

It’s no doubt the number one secret of World-Class Goal Achievers. When all other things are equal, it’s the reason why one person makes millions and the other one can barely make a living. It’s the power of belief.

Look at you own situation, when was the last time you set out to achieve something only to be told by your family and peer group that you would never do it. How many times have you heard the little negative voice which is inside all of us tell you that you cannot do what you wanted to set out to do?

We all have conversations with our selves, whenever we are faced with a choice. This conversation takes place between our positive and negative selves. The positive will point out all the advantages to be gained from taking a particular course of action, whereas the negative voice will look at the experiences we have had to date and point out all the times we have failed to achieve a result. The experiences may or may not directly relate to the course of action we are considering.

Napoleon Hill said that faith was the most powerful force on earth (faith is belief without proof). Christians know that the power of faith has been described as being so powerful that a tiny amount (the size of a mustard seed) could move mountains.

Belief is nothing more than what we accept as true or real. Now here’s something important to understand: what we accept as true may not be true and it may not be real. But if we accept it as true or real it influences our decisions just as if it were.

Hey, slow down a bit that is a bit heavy. What I am saying here is that we have two minds, you will have heard of this before. The conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind draws on everything that happens to our five senses, touch, hearing, sight, smell, taste whereas the subconscious has none of these experiences to draw on. Yet it is the subconscious mind that is the true driving force of our existence. When was the last time you had to force yourself to breathe, blink or whatever? Your subconscious mind takes over and we do things automatically.

By the same token it is also the home of your limiting beliefs - remember those conversations?

But we will look at limiting beliefs and how to conquer them elsewhere.

When I was at school it was drilled into us that THE ONLY WAY to succeed was to work hard, pass your exams to get a good job.

This is just not strictly true. Let’s look at some evidence, ever heard of say Bill Gates, the richest person in the world. Bill Gates dropped out of college without a degree. So that belief is obviously false.

Before you say, ‘It was alright for him he developed Microsoft and was in the right place at the right time. Did he know that when he set off to develop Microsoft?

Who is to say that that dream you have inside your head right at this moment will not cause people in the future, if you follow your dream through, to say of you, ‘It’s alright for him he developed x company’.

Listen, Dr. Maxwell Maltz, the legendary author of Psycho-Cybernetics said, “Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed possible.  This power becomes available to you just as soon as you can change your beliefs.” As Marting Luther King Jnr said, “You do not need to see the whole staircase, take the first step in faith”.

Get Your Thinking Out Of The Box

What is thinking out of the box? It is getting outside the usual ways of looking at things (that’s the box) to arrive at new and useful ideas. How do you do it? Here is one of the many ways.

How To Get Your Thinking Out Of The Box

One of the simplest techniques for “out of the box” thinking is to identify each of the elements of the “box” and consider any alternatives that come to mind, even crazy ones. Most of these will not be useful, but work with them and some may be made into ideas that aren’t so crazy after all. Once in a while they may even lead to great innovations. Let’s look at a specific example to see how this works.

Suppose you want to stop smoking, and you are looking for a creative new way to do this? First, you need to identify the ideas, assumptions and solutions that are common. These are the basis of the “box.” They could include:

- It is a matter of willpower.

- This is a personal goal.

- You’ll pay for some program to help you quit.

- You have to stop smoking.

- It is difficult to quit.

There are certainly other common ideas and solutions, but these are enough to show how the process works. Starting with the willpower issue, you might ask, “Why does it have to be a test of willpower?” This leads you to consider the easiest ways to quit. Perhaps hypnotism could help. It also suggests not being around others who smoke for a while, so there is no temptation. There is nothing too creative here, so you move on to the next item.

It is natural to assume that this is a personal goal, but not necessary to keep that perspective. Many people want to quit, perhaps even a few of your friends. Is there some way to make this a group goal? While that thought is in your mind, you challenge the next item with the idea; “What if a program paid me to quit?” That leads to an out-of-the-box solution: A group challenge and bet.

You arrange with three friends who want to quit to each put a thousand dollars in a pot. After one year, those have not smoked a cigarette get to split the pot. If two of you succeed, you’ll each be a thousand ahead. If only one succeeds, he or she will make three thousand dollars. There’s some real motivation, and the competitive nature of the challenge may help as well.

What about the assumption that you have to quit smoking? Is there a way to continue smoking without the health problems? You might switch slowly to cigarettes with less nicotine. You might find that the sensation of the cigarette in your mouth is as important as the nicotine, and you can eventually just “smoke” them without lighting them. These ideas may work, but are not too new, so you move on.

What about the idea that it is difficult to quit? You ask yourself, what if it was easy to quit? That gives you nothing, so you play with the idea and ask, “What if it was difficult to smoke?” Now that is an out of the box question, and it immediately suggests some ideas. How do you make it difficult? Perhaps you and your spouse could pay five dollars per cigarette into a special account to be split at the end of a year. Whoever smokes less will gain the most, and the pain of the high cost will make it tough to smoke much.

The most potentially profitable idea, though, may be that of having a drug that causes you to get immediately nauseous when you smoke. That makes it difficult to continue. It would be something like the drug “anabuse” which makes alcoholics vomit if they drink. It would be even better if it was in the form of an injection that lasts for a month, so you can’t “forget” your pill.

You can see the basic process here. First define the “box,” by listing all the usual ideas and solutions. Then consider these one-by-one. Attack them, alter them, look for opposites, and do anything else to find a new perspective. There are many ways to have more creative ideas, but this is one of the simplest and most systematic techniques for getting your thinking out of the box.

Your Creativity Quotient - How To Boost It

We don’t have a precisely-numbered measure of your “creativity quotient,” yet, like we have for your intelligence quotient, or “IQ.” But tests which do try to measure your creative ability generally look at three criteria. These are the quantity of your ideas, their originality, and the possible usefulness or “quality” of those ideas. With that in mind, here are some techniques for doing better in all three areas.

Creativity Through Quantity

More ideas means a higher probability of a few good ideas. This has been shown in both research and most of personal experiences. How, then, do we generate more ideas?

Start by practicing. If you had to write down as many uses as you could in ten minutes for a piece of string (a common creativity exercise), you might get a dozen ideas the first time you try. Do it a few times, though (with different items), and you’ll soon find that you are coming up with twice as many ideas. This is especially true if you do this with others. Their ideas will get you thinking in new ways.

You can also learn one or more of the many specific techniques for generating ideas. They include mentally combining concepts to create new ones, tearing apart things and processes to change the components, challenging premises and more. If you want instructions in how to use these special methods, they can usually be found online by searching “problem solving techniques,” or “creativity techniques.”

A Higher Creativity Quotient Means More Original Ideas

Existing ideas have likely been tried. What is new, then, can more likely add value to what is already here. New to you may not be new to the world, of course. I am regularly dreaming up of new inventions which I later find already existed somewhere. But you have to start with what is original to you.

Do a creativity exercise like the one mentioned above, where you try to find as many uses as you can for some common object. Then show your ideas to someone else. If they don’t laugh at some of them, or if you are not embarrassed by a few of them, they are not crazy enough. To have more original ideas you need to lower your inhibitions and let the thoughts flow.

It isn’t that a silly or outrageous idea is inherently useful. In fact, most of them will not be of any direct value. For example, who would really want to use chewing gum as a defensive weapon, as one gentleman wrote down during a brainstorming exercise? The image of him throwing a sticky wad of gum at an attacker is just ridiculous. But upon reflection, it occurred to me that gooey balls with transponders in them could be thrown at fleeing suspects or their vehicles. These would stick to anything and be trackable with a device the police would have. This is where the primary value of crazy and original ideas is - they lead to better ideas.

Again, the first thing to do to improve the originality of your ideas, is to practice. Write down all the craziest uses you can think of for a dollar bill or a tree branch. Then see if by working with the associations created, you can work with one of these ideas until it is something possibly useful. Try asking crazy questions too. The more you let yourself be original, the easier it gets.

Having More Useful Ideas

Of course, one of the biggest reasons to boost your creativity quotient is to have more useful, perhaps even profitable ideas. Concentrating on the first two components above will help get you there. To really boost the quality of your ideas, though, work in areas that actually mean something to you, and where you can actually apply what you think of. It may be fun to think of new flying machines or ways to cure world hunger, and it’s good mental exercise, but if you are not in a position to do something with those ideas, you will not be as good at testing them or refining them into something truly useful. Start closer to home.

For example, look at the problems you actually can do something about around the house or in your life, and exercise your creativity on these. Think of a new way to organize the garage, for example, or find a new and creative way to get the kids to clean their rooms. By actually putting your ideas into action you tell your mind that this is more than just mental exercise, that it is important to real life. This gets your unconscious mind working overtime on new ideas. It is a sure way to boost your creativity quotient.

How To Seduce Women Using Subliminal Messages

I think this is a topic that will cause a mad rush of men to lower their remotes and come like some mad mob to the computer with the credit cards at the ready looking for something to buy. Hold your horses and relax; don’t give yourself a heart attack from being too excited. Not all of us are born with the silver tongue and hot bod of a suave, built Casanova. We don’t all have Hollywood million dollar smiles or a bank account that would make Mars look like a small moon. Most of us are really just average Joes playing the game - a game that we sometimes I have no idea what the rules are. It is about the mental positioning and exuding a persona that women find irresistible. Subliminal messages can do this. Curious? This article will show you how to seduce women using subliminal messages and be the envy of your friends.

Now I think that I have to set out some points that a lot of research and talking to women have managed to bring about. A woman might not always look for a good looking guy. A woman might not always be looking for a walking gold mine. But women will always respond to someone who is confident, easy to talk to, have ’social value’ and seems to be able to read their body language and make them laugh. Now most of the time, I have floundered at all of these points at many parts in my life, either with a departing figure, a hand to my face or high pitched laughing at my efforts to be cool and suave.

I’m sorry guys but most of us wear disappointment like a scribbled insult across our foreheads and once that takes over us, we might as well be trying to pick up whales with a shrimp fork. It has to seem natural and ulterior motives - while an obvious objective in the picking up women game - should be the glove we wear. You might as well be walking around with a hard-on waiting to be called a perv and soon be arrested. There is a fine line between being a Casanova and being a total sleazeball, and that fine line happens to be the all important element in the game - the conversation.

Subliminal messages can help us here because of the technology behind it and the applications where it uses unperceived messages (either text or sounds). This reprograms your mind and removes the fear, uncertainty and desperation that end up making us seem like a pimple ridden gorilla that just had some really spicy curry. Subliminal messages make being charismatic, charming and confident second nature to us and once a performance like that isn’t forced - it will be a drama that is convincing and win you some fans who would hopefully - want to go backstage with you and help you learn your script - if you know what I’m saying.
